“More cowbell” – Blue Oyster Cultin jäsenet selventävät kuka lehmänkelloa soittaa kappaleessa “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”

"David Lucas (Producer) played Cowbell on the song Tenderloin (not Don't Fear the Reaper) he came in (the studio) and played it (Tenderloin) when nobody was there . Then I came in the next day and said this is what I did and I said Dave, that's great again this is before we put the cowbell on Reaper. The confusion was afterwards David Lucas said I know I played Reaper after nobody was there. I was like no, that is the wrong song, that is 'Tenderloin', which is the first one that had a Cowbell."

MAINOS:

Jokainen on varmasti kuullut Blue Oyster Cultin vuonna 1976 levyttämän kappaleen “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”. Useissa elokuvissa ja tv-sarjoissakin soinut hitti on tunnettu myös menevästä lehmänkello-soundista.

Yhtyeen perustajajäsenet Albert ja Joe Bouchard kertovat The Metal Voicen haastattelussa kuka kelloa oikeastaan kappaleella soitti. Joe: “This is the guy who actually played the Cowbell in the studio (pointing to Albert), there have been a lot of rumours over the years, that maybe it wasn’t Albert.”

Saturday Night Live teki lehmänkello-teemasta suosiota saaneen sketsin “More Cowbell”, jossa näyttelevät muun muassa Jimmy Fallon, Will Ferrell, Chris Parnell ja Christopher Walken (joka näyttelee tuottaja Bruce Dickinsonia).
