Thrash metal –pioneeri Testament esiintyi Ranskan Hellfestissä 23.6.2019. Konsertti on ammattikalustolla taltioituna katsottavissa alta. Yhtye työstää parhaillaan uutta studiolevyä, jonka julkaisua odotellaan loppuvuodesta.

Ruotsalainen melodista dark metallia soittava Evergrey esiintyi Bloodstock-festareilla elokuussa 2018. Konsertti on järjestäjien toimesta katsottavissa kokonaisuudessaan. Bändi julkaisi uusimman levynsä “The Atlantic” alkuvuodesta 2019.

Kreikkalaisen äärimetalliyhtye Rotting Christin kakkosalbumi ”Non Serviam” ilmestyy 25-vuotisjuhlan kunniaksi uudelleen LP- ja CD-formaateissa elokuussa. Vinyyliversio sisältää uuden 8-sivuisen vihon, jossa kerrataan vuonna 1994 julkaistun levyn tarina.
Albumi on kaupoissa Peacevillen kautta 2.8.2019 ja ennakkotilattavissa linkistä.

Ruotsalainen black metal –yhtye Marduk esitti ”Panzer Division Marduk” –erikoisshown Hyvinkään Steelfestissä 18.5.2019. Keikalta on katsottavissa lavan edestä taltioitua videomateriaalia kappaleiden ”Panzer Division Marduk”, ”Christraping Black Metal” sekä ”Baptism By Fire” muodossa.
Uutta levyä valmisteleva grindcore-veteraani Napalm Death on julkistanut mittavan Euroopan kiertueen kesän festariesiintymisten jatkoksi. Bändi nähdään sen myötä Tallinnassa, Rock Klubi Tapperissa 26.9.2019.
Bändin mukaan uusi albumi on viimeistelyä vaille valmis ja seuraa vuoden 2015 “Apex Predator – Easy Meat” –pitkäsoittoa. Yhtye nähtiin Suomessa viimeksi neljän keikan kiertueella helmikuussa 2019.
Napalm Deathin keulamies Mark “Barney” Greenway kommentoi:
The stinky van is calling again, and this summer looks to me like we’re reaching more parts of Europe than we have done in quite a few summers. Macedonia in July looks to be one that sticks out, as I recall that our last gig there was in the midst of the miserable Balkans war – it was that long ago. On another note, I know people are probably wondering about the next album. It is coming, we promise. Unforeseen circumstances and the kind of recurring touring schedule you see in front of your eyes have conspired to string it out quite a bit. It’s gonna be a multi-faceted rasper though, I think. Some nice ’n’ quirky cover songs too. All will be revealed soon – just getting on with artwork and last couple of lyrics and all the usual window dressing. Alongside that, if it comes off, a nifty associated split release with a very-definitely-not-grindcore band is in the planning, which will neatly skip around convention and stereotype. And why not. Cheers all.

Saksalainen melodista voimametallia esittävä Freedom Call on julkaissut ensimmäisen singlen ja musiikkivideon ”111” tulevalta elokuussa ilmestyvältä ”M.E.T.A.L.” –albumilta.
”M.E.T.A.L.” saapuu kauppoihin 23.8.2019 SPV-levymerkin kautta.
Vokalisti Chris Bay kommentoi:
The title of the first single release ‘111’ (with the “perceived” subtitle ‘The Number Of The Angels’) is also programmatic for the album. “’111″ is the number of angels in Western esotericism, and it also plays an important role in my life. I come across it constantly, be it the number of my hotel room, a receipt at the supermarket or even my birth date. I’m obviously a ‘one’ person which also means that I’m a ‘light person’.
Yhtye suuntaa tulevan levyn jälkeen 20-vuotisjuhlakiertueelle läpi Keski-Euroopan. Lämmittelijänä toimii Visions Of Atlantis. Levy ja kiertue esittelevät yhtyeen uudet jäsenet rumpali Timmi Breidebandin sekä basisti Francesco Saverio Ferraron. Bändi on mahdollista nähdä rundin päätteeksi Luulajassa 2.11.2019 ja Tukholmassa 3.11.2019.

Lokakuussa Suomeen saapuva death metal –ryhmä Entombed A.D. on julkaissut uuden musiikkivideon ”Torment Remains”. Biisi on nostettu yhtyeen elokuussa ilmestyvältä ”Bowels Of Earth” –levyltä. Albumi on kaupoissa 30.8.2019 Century Median kautta ja ennakkotilattavissa linkistä.

Kotimainen metallihuippu Sonata Arctica julkaisee 10.studiolevynsä ”Talviyö” syyskuussa. Ensimmäinen single ja lyriikkavideo kappaleesta ”A Little Less Understanding” on nyt katsottavissa.
Albumi nauhoitettiin syyskuun 2018 ja toukokuun 2019 välillä ja sen tuotti Mikko Tegelman.
Levy julkaistaan Nuclear Blastin kautta 6.9.2019.
Kosketinsoittaja Henrik “Henkka” Klingberg kommentoi:
We were talking about having an album cover made from a photo and luckily managed to find this award winning photographer Onni Wiljami who actually hails from a village not too far from our hometown and his pictures were just perfect for this album. We recorded a bunch of kick ass songs and tried some new stuff as well. I’m really proud of how we managed to record the band sounding more live, playing together instead of just tracking everything one by one. Mikko produced the album and he really managed to push us to do our best, even with the more experimental stuff. Working with an outside producer was the biggest new thing we tried this time.
Vokalisti Tony Kakko lisää:
The idea was to create an album that is musically in line with at least the previous two albums. I am very happy with the songs and the general mood of the album. Some career highlights there, I feel.
“A Little Less Understanding” is lyrically somewhat a follow up for ”I Have A Right” and talks about the difficulty of making the right choices with the upbringing of a new human being.
