Iced Earthin johtohahmo, äskettäin 50 vuotta täyttänyt Jon Schaffer kertoo Metal Wanin uudessa haastattelussa Blind Guardian –vokalisti Hansi Kürschin kanssa perustamansa sivuprojekti Demons & Wizardsin odotetun kolmannen levyn ilmestyvän ensi vuonna.
Kaksikolla on olemassa pohjat kolmeen kappaleeseen, Schafferin mukaan suunnitelmissa on työstää levy valmiiksi elokuun 2018 ja kuluvan vuoden lopun välillä. Julkaisua odotellaan 2019 aikana. Demons & Wizardsin edellinen albumi ”Touched By The Crimson King” saapui kauppoihin kesällä 2005.
Kitaristin kommentit Demons & Wizardista:
Next step for me is Demons & Wizards. That’s completely different writing process than what I do with Iced Earth because I’m working on musical arrangements and Hansi is working with lyrics and vocal melodies, in whatever direction he wants to go. And that’s our partnership. I have written some lyrics with Demons & Wizards but he does it best. The way he crafts vocal melodies over my arrangements, that’s what creates the Frankestein monster and it’s always fun to do that. That’s the next thing for me creatively. Realistically because of touring scedules I have to deal with, it’s going to be from August on until the end of the year. We have three songs going ready so there is still quite a lot work to do. Perfect timing for me is the end of the year, but I expect it to be quick. When I get focused I get things ready and Hansi’s schedule I think is opening up then as well so 2019 is going to be realistic (timeframe) for new album.
