| Yhtyeenne esikuvat? | I’d say my main influence comes from the American thrash metal scene combined with some British old school heavy metal from the 70s and 80s. |
| Kertokaa yhtyeenne taustatarina? | MMI is more of a solo project of mine rather than a band. I started the project way back and have kept it going in different forms through the years. The first full length album “Mention” was more of an industrial style of EBM music and have not much likeness to what I do today which is more of a thrashy metal with aggression and melody. |
| Minkälaiset tavoitteet yhtyeellänne on? | No life goals except to write, release, play music and having fun while doing so. I’ve never been a seeker for “stardom” or getting famous. I just love writing and recording my music and as long as that makes me happy, I’ll keep on delivering metal to my fans. |
| Minkälainen työnjako musiikin tekemisessä on? | In the studio I do everything. All instruments played/performed by me, it says so on most press-releases and on the album covers. I do however like to invite guests for a song here and there on albums. I’ve had Patrik Wirén of Misery Love Co. Jens Westin of Corroded, Gustaf Jorde of Defleshed, Sabrina Khilstrand of Ice Age, Erik Martensson of Eclipse and on the latest album I sang a duet with Mr. Dave Hill of NWOBHM legends DEMON on the song “Information Overload” (Also on video). At live shows I have different musicians backing me up which always delivers 100 % on stage and most of them have played with me for many years on stage. |
| Millainen kokemus bändinne on livenä ja miksi yhtyeenne keikoille kannattaa tulla? | I always pick the best of live musicians to back me up on stage. You always get a 100 % kick ass live show full of energy, playfulness backed up by some great fucking songs. MMI is one of the few Swedish bands whom actually have played all major big rock/metal festivals in Sweden, so, I guess the MMI live performance speaks for itself. We have played Finland a bunch of times as well and hope to come back some day. |
| Uusimman levynne nimi: | “Eschaton 1. Reckoning Day” which is the first album in the Eschaton trilogy. The second part of the trilogy will be released already in 2023 by GMR Music. |
| Avatkaa uuden levynne taustoja. Mikä on toiminut levyn inspiraationa? | In 2019 I released an album called “Doomsday Clock” and plans was to tour on that album. We only did two shows with NERVOSA in Sweden and then the lock down hit us hard. After only a couple of months I got bored and started to write on this trilogy of albums and soon enough I had like seventeen songs ready to record. So, I started rehearsing the drums and then tracked them in my studio and not long after that all music for all three albums was done. Each album will have a “the end of the world” theme within different scenarios. Not all of the songs carry the theme but the majority of them will. |
| Minkä bändin kanssa lähtisitte kaikkein mieluiten kiertämään maailmaa? | We just did a tour with DEATH ANGEL from the US which was just super great and from what I noticed on the tour was that we were a real great fit, their fans really liked us. So, maybe some of those legendary Bay Area thrash bands would be a good fit for us, like… Flotsam & Jetsam, Exodus, Testament or some of those guys. But my childhood dream band to tour with would be SAXON. THAT would blow my mind! |
| Jos uudelta levyltä/vanhasta tuotannosta pitäisi suositella kahta biisiä, niin mitkä ne olisivat ja miksi? | I would recommend to listen to “Betrayer Of The Code” and “Information Overload” from the latest album. Both are very far apart in style, aggression, speed and melody but both represent the style the Eschaton trilogy holds for the upcoming years of MMI. |
| Mikä musiikki kolahtaa yhtyeellenne juuri nyt? | I am all over the place as a listener and a fan. I love Journey, Magnum, Venom, Megadeth, Rotting Christ and Jethro Tull. I do have a hard time finding “new” bands that I love though. Mostly I go back to those I loved for a long time as a fan. Black Sabbath and Judas Priest is my personal faves… forever, haha. |
| Muita asioita, joita haluatte kertoa yhtyeestänne: | MMI will keep on existing till the day I die. And I want to thank all my past musicians and future musicians for keeping my dream alive. I also want to encourage music fans to really support your favourites right now. Even though the pandemic is “over” most of us musicians really struggle to survive. Touring has become WAY more expensive than before the pandemic, and as you all know, streaming doesn’t give us any chance to provide. So, go to shows and support your fave bands. |
