| Bändin nimi: | We are called Uburen, it’s taken from a mountain with the same name in the small village where the brothers Ask and Bior grew up. And it roughly translates to carried out, its said in the old days mothers would carry their weak or unwanted babies up the mountain and throw them over the edge. |
| Yhtyeen genre: | We play Norwegian black metal with Norse or Viking lyrical themes. |
| Ketä yhtyeeseen kuuluu: | We are a 3-piece band that consist of Ask on guitar and vocals, Bior on bass and vocals and Wrage on the drums. |
| Mistä yhtyeenne on kotoisin: | We are all born and bred Norwegian Ask and Bior hails from a small village in the fjords on the south-West coast and Wrage from Bergen one of the most famous metal cities in Norway. |
| Yhtyeenne esikuvat: | Most bands in the first and second wave of black metal have been an influence on our music. Other than that the band Khold has been very inspiring since they only write songs in Norwegian, they’ve done what so many others have failed to, crafting depth and intrigue in our native tongue. |
| Kertokaa yhtyeenne taustatarina: | Uburen was started as Bior and Ask together with other members split from other projects, we wanted to play a more serious style of Viking/black metal, we found ourselves not wanting to do that whole saying Odin and mead in every other verse, nor hailing Satan and darkness. Since then the band as had a lot of line-up changes and has ended up with the brothers Bior and Ask and new blood Wrage having the same mindset and goals. |
| Minkälaiset tavoitteet yhtyeellänne on: | We’ve always been a band that loves doing live shows and we’ve had the pleasure playing many places in the world from Russia to Mexico and so many in between. We’ve also had the insane experience sharing a small local stage with old school hero’s Carpathian Forest. And huge festival stages with acts such as Dimmu Borgir. Our goal is to keep playing and creating whilst having a blast as we’ve had this far. |
| Minkälainen työnjako musiikin tekemisessä on: | As we are only 3 people, everyone has to pull weight where ever they can. Ask has built and done all the studio, mix and master work other then that we try to share the labour. Bior has a good head for lyrics but every member spits in their own ideas and everyone is involved in the music writing. |
| Millainen kokemus bändinne on livenä ja miksi yhtyeenne keikoille kannattaa tulla: | We always live by the motto «it doesn’t matter if its 10 people watching or 10000 as long as someone does us the honour of checking us out live we’ll give it our all», we never hold back as can be seen in our corpse paint being totally sweated away by the end of a set. We’re not shy about hanging out with fans and fellow music lovers or having an after party either. |
| Uusimman levynne nimi: | Our new album is called ‘’Usurp The Throne’’ its available on most streaming services from the 20th of January and physical copies can be bought online through Dusktone’s Bandcamp or Season of Mist online shop.

| Avatkaa uuden levynne/julkaisunne taustoja. Mikä on toiminut sen inspiraationa ja miten tuotos on syntynyt: | The album does not have one theme all the way through. We wrote most of it before covid hit and was ready to release but chose to hold back until “2 weeks to flatten the curve’’ was over so we could play shows around the release, and since then we kept adding tracks. Some of the tracks tackles our views on the softening of Norwegian black metal and the future of the genre and to highlight one in particular the track ‘’as Sorrow Turns to Hate’’ was written when a fan contacted us about his sister being murderd by the police in Honduras. We wrote the song to help get attention to the case and happy to say the trial is happening and ongoing. |
| Minkä bändin kanssa lähtisitte kaikkein mieluiten kiertämään maailmaa: | There are so many great acts and heroes we’ve already had the pleasure of sharing stage with and every experience has offered something unique. Its hard to say one act to do the entire world with maybe Kampfar or Immortal I think we would complement each other’s sound and give one hell of a show. |
| Jos uudelta levyltä/vanhasta tuotannosta pitäisi suositella kahta biisiä, niin mitkä ne olisivat ja miksi: | The title track ‘Usurp The Throne’ – it’s a straight forward song but its an absolute headbanger and ‘As Sorrow Turns To Hate’ – I don’t think we’ve ever had a heavier or more furious heart writing a track and we think it shows even if we wrote and recorded the entire thing in a weekend. |
