| Yhtyeen genre? | We play Melodic Death Metal, reminiscent of bands from the 90s and early 2000s. |
| Ketä yhtyeeseen kuuluu? | Andi (guitars) and Roman (drums) started the band in 2017. Since then, Stella (guitars), Hannes (bass) and Michael (vocals) completed the line-up. |
| Mistä yhtyeenne on kotoisin? | We are from Vienna, Austria. |
| Yhtyeenne esikuvat? | You can find a playlist on our Spotify account which contains some of our favourite bands. Melodic Death Metal bands from the 90s like In Flames, Arch Enemy and early Opeth are our main influences. |
| Kertokaa yhtyeenne taustatarina? | Vermocracy was started in 2017 by Andi and Roman, who had already played together for some years in different formations. In early 2019 Michael joined us, after leaving his former Black-Metal Band Theotoxin. Later that year Stella, who we knew from the Vienna based band Black Coven, and Hannes completed the line-up. After playing lots of shows in and around Vienna in 2019 we recorded and released our self-titled debut album in 2020. Due to the pandemic and lockdowns in Austria it was very difficult to play shows and promote this album. Therefore we concentrated on writing new songs and reaching out for a label as a partner for further releases, which we found in Black Sunset/MDD records. In 2022 we recorded our second Album “Age Of Dysphoria” which will be released on September 30th. |
| Minkälaiset tavoitteet yhtyeellänne on? | Our next goal is to play live and promote our songs. We are currently reaching out to bookers and promoters in and outside of Austria. |
| Minkälainen työnjako musiikin tekemisessä on? | Andi and Stella are the main songwriters. Most lyrical topics came from Michael and Andi. For “Age Of Dysphoria” we also teamed up with Bettina Neustifter, who worked with us on fine-tuning our ideas and found the right words to our songs. |
| Millainen kokemus bändinne on livenä ja miksi yhtyeenne keikoille kannattaa tulla? | We love to play live and we believe that this leaps over to the crowd. We always try to create a rousing and intense atmosphere. |
| Uusimman levynne nimi: | Our second album is called “Age of Dysphoria” and will be released on September 30th via Black Sunset/MDD Records. |
| Avatkaa uuden levynne taustoja. Mikä on toiminut levyn inspiraationa? | Summarised under the title “Age of Dysphoria” we depict dark and critical topics which we can witness in todays world. We try to examine this in a greater social context as well as in a very personal way. The lyrics range from the danger of obsolete values to the yearning for an escape from a self-determined existence. |
| Minkä bändin kanssa lähtisitte kaikkein mieluiten kiertämään maailmaa? | Surely In Flames or Dark Tranquillity would be good choices. Maybe also The Halo Effect, because their members inspired our music so much in the past. |
| Jos uudelta levyltä/vanhasta tuotannosta pitäisi suositella kahta biisiä, niin mitkä ne olisivat ja miksi? | From our first album there is the song “Vermocracy” which gives a good overview of all aspects of our style. From “Age Of Dysphoria” this could be “Grace Of Hypnos” for the same reason. |
| Mikä musiikki kolahtaa yhtyeellenne juuri nyt? | We are listening to lots of old and new stuff from very different genres. Maybe Archspire is one of the bands which everyone of us likes very much at the moment. |
| Muita asioita, joita haluatte kertoa yhtyeestänne: | We are metalheads and musicians by heart and play the songs we would have loved to listen to 20 years ago. We are very happy that we get so much support from people, who enjoy our music like we do. |
