Ranskasta, Saksasta ja Italiasta koostuu progea ja alt rockia yhdistelevä R3VO. Yhtye vastaili Metalliluolan kysymyspatteristoon, tutustu tällä hetkellä Berliinissä majaansa pitävään bändiin alta.
| Bändin nimi? | The band is called “R3VO“, pronounced REVO. |
| Yhtyeen genre? | We’re stll trying to fgure out our sound, right now we’re somewhere between progressive metal and alternatve rock. All our songs sound very different one from another and it’s very hard to put the band under a single genre, yet. |
| Ketä yhtyeeseen kuuluu? | We’re a classic 4 piece band, vocals, guitar, bass and drums. We don’t do any backing vocals yet but this might change in the future. |
| Mistä yhtyeenne on kotoisin? | France, Germany and Italy. We’re currently all living in Berlin. |
| Yhtyeenne esikuvat? | Opeth, Tool, King Gizzard, Led Zeppelin, Muse, Pantera, Porcupine Tree, Nina Hagen |
| Kertokaa yhtyeenne taustatarina? | We’ve all met through a music school in Berlin called BIMM. Leo, Jan and I joined the school in 2018, Altaïr I believe in 2016. I had to write and perform a song for an end of term gig and asked Leo, Jan and Fredrick, our previous drummer, to help me out. We played “The Stranger“, which people really liked and decided to keep the band going. In 2019 Fredrik went back to Sweden, and we approached Altaïr. We once shared a stage with his other band “Cuprion“ and thought he was absolutely killer. We’ve been all together since then and I hope for many more years. |
| Minkälaiset tavoitteet yhtyeellänne on? | We want to play and get heard as much as possible. To me there’s nothing more intense than playing live to a crowd that hears your music for the first tme. Also we’re done mixing our frst EP with Sasha Bowers, and now we want to put together an amazing video for our 2 nd single, set release dates , keep writng music, keep gigging. |
| Minkälainen työnjako musiikin tekemisessä on? | I answer interviews and collect money afer the gig. Nah, so…. Leo and Jan have been working extremely hard in the ofce department, sending hundreds and hundreds of e-mails to online magazines, blogs, record labels, fundings organisatons, venues, playlists, etc… Altaïr and I try to help out from tme to tme if needed, but they’re much beter at it than we are. You could say they’re R3VO’s manager. Leo also created our website.Altaïr really has a vision when it comes to visuals. He came up with the whole concept for Artfcial Pleasure video, hired an incredible video maker (Chris Hesse, StrangeWorks) designed our logo, stickers, organised social medias strategy and he plays on tme, I mean.. Must be a family thing because his brother kindly designed the artwork for our last single.
I used to be the songwriter of the band, but since 2020 we’ve started composing all together in the rehearsal space. I guess I try to keep the moral high and to help here and there when needed. I’ve recently started to write songs again but my bandmates are tough judges. I have made my priority to push the band as much as possible, and I’m thinking a lot about ways to keep going further. |
| Millainen kokemus bändinne on livenä ja miksi yhtyeenne keikoille kannattaa tulla? | We want to make ourselves vulnerable and give everything we have, using the love we have for each other to get into a trance that translates into unbelievably raw energy. We’re not afraid to show who we are, we want to deliver an honest show to the audience and put our guts on the stage. |

| Avatkaa uuden levynne taustoja. Mikä on toiminut levyn inspiraationa? | Personally I get very inspired by nostalgia and dramatc landscapes, which I think are 2 elements well represented in half of the songs on the EP. The other half is more groovy, with blues ,rock and electronic music infuences. Berlin is a loud and intense city, that can play with your emotons, and I believe we’re all naturally infuenced by this crazy environment. Leo’s lyrics are about self-introspecton and drawing portraits, of herself and other characters. |
| Minkä bändin kanssa lähtisitte kaikkein mieluiten kiertämään maailmaa? | For me that would be Opeth, I absolutely admire this band and they seem to be easy going. Plus Mikael Akerfeldt always cracks the funniest jokes on stage. Sorry for the inaccurate spelling, I can’t fnd Swedish characters on my keyboard, although I’m sure Finns will forgive me. |
| Jos uudelta levyltä/vanhasta tuotannosta pitäisi suositella kahta biisiä, niin mitkä ne olisivat ja miksi? | Some of you might be familiar with it already but I’d say Taking Me Back and The White Raven from Jack White last album Fear of The Dawn, absolutely insane guitar tones and producton. |
| Mikä musiikki kolahtaa yhtyeellenne juuri nyt? | On the road we listen to a lot of diferent styles of music. From Meshuggah to Summer Walker, Ella Fitzgerald, Elton John, or even East European techno from the 90s. We all have very diferent tastes… Classic Rock, R&B, Trap, Djent, Techno, you name it. Which is great because everyone gets to be introduced to diferent kind of music that they wouldn’t necessarily discover on their own. |
