Uudessa Metal Wani-sivustolle antamaassaan haastattelussa amerikkalaisen voimametallipioneeri Iced Earthin johtohahmo Jon Schaeffer valottaa yhtyeen piktään valmistelussa olleen tulevan studiolevyn tilannetta ja kertoo taustoja uusille kappaleille. Kitaristin mukaan levy tulee tottelemaan aikaisemmin työnimen ”The Judas Goatin” sijasta nimeä ”Incorruptible” ja julkaisua odotetaan toukokuussa 2017 Century Median kautta. Bändin pitkäaikainen soolokitaristi Troy Seele jätti Iced Earthin äskettäin ja mukaan on astunut uusi mies Jake Dreyer (ex-White Wizzard), joka tulee esiintymään myös uudella albumilla. Yhtye tulee soittamaan myös Euroopassa useilla ensi kesän festivaaleilla.
Schaefferin kommentit tulevasta ”Incorruptible” levystä ja kappaleista:
The new album’s going to be called “Incorruptible” and it’s coming out in May. We have done pre-production. We go back to studio in January 2017 and do the final master tracking, which takes only about 5-6 weeks to get the album finished. I have a very strong gut feeling about this one, it’s up there with ”The Dark Saga,” ”Something Wicked” and ”Dystopia”- records. This is really going to be something special and everyone feels that way. The album has 10 individual tracks, it’s not a concept album. There’s a song called ”Trail Of Trails” with cool native Indian vibe and “Clear The Way” about the Irish Brigade and the battle of Fredericksburg: a tragic story and a 10 minute epic. There’s a song called “Black Flag”, which is a pirate song and a highlight of the album. We also open shows on this tour with new track “The Great Heathen Army” which is about Vikings and it’s going to be the opening track of the album as well. There’s one called “Raven Wing” and really brutal one titled “Seven Headed Whore”. There are lots of varied emotions there.
