| Kertokaa yhtyeenne taustatarina: | The band was formed in 1999 by Nicholas and Socrates. With a deep love and fascination of ancient Greek and Cypriot history and mythology, the band released its first album Road to Macedonia in 2004, which set the stage for what was to come – epic melodies with traditional influences, and lyrical themes about the ancient past. This combination resonated well with audiences and reviewers and established a strong following which has only grown since then. With a steady stream of releases and a relentless work ethic, the band is continually releasing albums and remains very active. |

Mikä on toiminut sen inspiraationa ja miten tuotos on syntynyt: | The album is a concept album about the history of the Kingdom of Salamis, an ancient kingdom which was situated in Cyprus and the ruins are well-preserved and visible to this day. We tell the story of its rise and fall, and the battles and conflicts which took place. |

| Jos uudelta levyltä/vanhasta tuotannosta pitäisi suositella kahta biisiä, niin mitkä ne olisivat ja miksi: | The title track from ”Road to Macedonia” and ”Molon Lave” from ”Terra Incognita” are two songs from the older albums which always get a wild reception from crowds and capture the essence of the earlier sound of the band. From newer albums, ”Bellerophon” from ”Archegonoi” and ”Equilibrium” from ”Dawn of Aquarius” are two songs which different from each other and really give a strong picture of what the band is like now and where it is headed! |

| Muita asioita, joita haluatte kertoa yhtyeestänne: | We try to sound ‘unique’ – that is a difficult task in today’s world, but we truly feel we have a strong concept for the music, and that we are making use of the resources at our disposal – our history, our culture, and that we make a strong case for bringing musicians performing on real classic traditional instruments instead of using samples. We have worked with some incredible musicians and producers in our musical journey, and what they give to u s is more than their recorder parts on the albums. We learn from them, absorb some knowledge from them (and hopefully they get some from us as well) and as a result our music grows and develops in an organic way. |
